Air Canada's Pet Travel Policy
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) regulates air transportation of pets and all airlines are required by law to follow the guidelines outlined on our Air Travel Regulations for Pets page. Individual airlines may impose further restrictions or fees for flying with your pet. Air Canada's pet policy is described below.

Pets in the Cabin:
Pets in the cabin service is no longer available on Air Canada, and has been discontinued as of September 18, 2006. Only certified, professionally-trained service animals assisting customers with disabilities will continue to be carried, free of charge, in the passenger cabin at the customer's feet--provided they have a registered training certificate.
Pets Checked with Baggage:
Pets in the baggage compartment service is no longer available on Air
Canada for tickets issued on/after July 15, 2007 for travel on/after
July 15, 2007. Bookings and tickets issued prior to July 15, 2007 will be honored. For any travel after July 15 with a pet, Air Canada Cargo (AC Live Product) must be used. Please consult Air Canada Cargo for details at aclive@aircanada.ca or 866-615-1155.
