Hawaiian Airlines's Pet Travel Policy
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) regulates air transportation of pets and all airlines are required by law to follow the guidelines outlined on our Air Travel Regulations for Pets page. Individual airlines may impose further restrictions or fees for flying with your pet. Hawaiian Airlines's pet policy is described below.
Any questions? Call Hawaiian Airlines at 1-800-367-5320
Pets in the Cabin:
Dogs are only allowed in the passenger cabin on inter-island flights and flights leaving the State of Hawaii. Dogs are not allowed on flights arriving into the State of Hawaii due to Quarantine requirements (but exceptions will be made for service animals). Your pet must be in a carrier that will fit under the seat in front of you, and you may book your pet in the passenger cabin at the same time you make your own flight reservations.
There is no extra charge for pets traveling with you in the cabin.
Pets Checked with Baggage:
Pet can be loaded in the baggage compartment of your passenger flight. The combined weight of the pet and kennel must not exceed 70 lbs. You may book your pet as check-in baggage at the same time you make your own flight reservations. The fee for pets being checked with baggage is $35.
Should the combined weight of the pet and kennel exceed 70 lbs, your pet may be accepted as cargo. When you're ready to book your pet through cargo, please call the Hawaiian Airlines Cargo Capacity Desk toll-free number at 1-877-HA-CARGO (422-2746). You will be able to pre-book a maximum of 30 days in advance and a minimum of 2 days of the desired date of travel. Hawaiian Airlines will accept a maximum of three (3) animals per flight. Cargo shipping rates for live animals are determined by the size (dimensions) of your kennel.
