Flying With Dogs Dog Travel Forum

We'll be flying to Thailand from Israel along with our female french bulldog, which weighs around 8.5kg (without the kennel). She's not fat at all, so it might not be possible to diet our way the ~7kg that most of the air companies require.

I really don't want her to fly with the baggage (Tel Aviv these days is ~30C and so does Bangkok; and she is brachiocephalic). I've tried talking to the air companies: maybe buy another ticket, upgrade to business- nothing worked.

Has anyone got through with a slightly overweight dog? Are there companies that can let a few 100 grams slide?... Any tips at all?
