Best Place to Stay with Pets in Asheville, NC
Janet in Norcross, GA
Wow, this property really is pet friendly, and I know--I have traveled from west to east and up north to the south with my pets and this location provided the nicest staff and the most comfortable rooms. I have stayed in other hotels before that claimed to be "pet friendly." But, in actuality, I and my pets were usually banished to special "wing" of the hotel and some rooms smelled worse than the average public dog kennel. Not this hotel, though. It was very well-maintained and pet owners are actually assigned rooms amongst the other guests, whether traveling with pets or not. The staff at the front desk are very personable and helpful and the housekeeping staff do a terrific job keeping everything clean. I stayed during Christmas 2008 and the management made sure that all the guests would have necessary items on Christmas Day as the housekeeping staff would be minimal. They sent out a notice about the staff spending time with their families for the holiday, so each room was given a care package with extra towels, shampoo, soap, etc. in advance so no guest would go without. That tells me that this hotel cares about meeting the needs of its guests and instead of being reactive, there is someone on the staff that understands the importance of being proactive. I highly recommend this property to anyone needing a place to stay with pets. This hotel made a positive impression on me and I will most definitely return again in the future. Also, like the reviewer above, I was not charged the full $20.00 per night pet fee either. That was a nice surprise to my wallet! What a great stay and wonderful visit to the Asheville, NC area.

Great Pet Friendly Hotel!
Tim Rice in Charleston, SC
This hotel is great. The hotel has pet walking area, treats for your pet at the front desk, ideal location only 10 minutes from downtown asheville and the biltmore estate. The staff was very friendly and gave special attention to my dog, "Chancey". This hotel is truly pet friendly. I would recommend it and will be returning.

Glad we stayed there...
Renée in Memphis, TN
My husband and I stayed here with our 2 dogs (45 lbs. and 60 lbs.), and we had no complaints. The desk clerk told me that they had had as many as 6 dogs in one room before. The hotel charged us one $25 pet fee for the entire stay, although their policy had said $20/night for both dogs together. They made us sign something saying that we would not leave the dogs in the room unattended, but I had advised them during 2 telephone calls prior to checking in that I would not be able to honor that, and they seemed fine with it. I'm pretty sure most everyone on the first floor, the pet-friendly floor, was doing the same thing, because most doors had a Do Not Disturb sign on it during the day. There were lots of other doggies staying there when we were there. There are pet treats at the front desk, and there are 3 dog-walking areas, quite small but adequate, and they all have dispensers of plastic, disposable mitts for picking up after the pets. The hotel also had us leave our cell ph# at the front desk in case the dogs caused any disturbances during the day. We were advised that if other patrons complained of a disturbance and if they were unable to reach us to pick the dogs up to abate the disturbance, then we would be responsible for whatever reimbursement they had to give the complaining patron. I thought this was fair. All-in-all, we had no problems, and we really liked the hotel to boot. It has a pool, arcade games, coffee and lemonade in the lobby, USA Today delivered to the room every morning, recycling receptacles, large up-to-date rooms/bathrooms, and beautiful mountain views. And it's only a very short drive to downtown Asheville. I would definitely stay there again.
