Very cute recent remodel!

We stayed at this location many years ago, and it was worn down then, but the location a stone’s throw from the beach couldn’t be beat, coupled with its pet-friendly policy. Appreciate that they don’t charge extra! When I recently started traveling to SB for work, I checked them out and was delighted to find that they’d recently remodeled and leaned into the retro ‘mid century mod’ vibe of the year they were founded! (This is the first Motel 6 in the world, for anyone who may not know!) The room is small, but excellently laid out, and very, very clean - and I’m kinda a clean freak! When I opened the door to the bathroom, I got the faint scent of bleach, which I loved - clearly, they are disinfecting! Decor is adorable (I wanted to buy the fridge!) and the bed is comfortable. If there were one thing I’d ask for it would be a microwave, whether it’s in the room or front office. But not a deal breaker, by any means. Thanks, Motel 6. We’ll definitely be back!
