Not So Pet Friendly

At check in, we were asked to signed a pet waiver that said we were not allowed to leave our dog unattended in our room and if our dog were to disturb our neighbors — we would be financially responsible for compensating them. It said the maximum fine would be the cost of our neighbor’s room. Our dog is well-behaved but we felt as though we were prisoners to our room. It didn’t end up being a problem for us but we were caught off guard when presented with the waiver. We were also given a sign to hang on our door that said “pet in room.”

Another reviewer noted the bathroom situation. There is nowhere close by to take your dog. Even the sidewalks have very little tree areas or plants. The closest parks are a bit of a walk. It was very clear that several dogs relieved themselves on the sidewalk directly outside the hotel.

Don’t get me wrong — this is a nice hotel and it was our second time staying there. It has an awesome location. Our dog got a Kimptons tennis ball which he loved. We just found that the bathroom situation and the waiver were big, unexpected downsides that we wish we knew about.
