Hotel management lied

Motel 6 Rosemead CA - Los Angeles

Even though I had a prepaid reservation, the staff refused to check me in arguing there was a power outage and that PG&E had quoted one hour for the power to be restored. It was storming out, and they refused to let me stay on the property. A few other guests were turned away as well. I called back about every 30 min for 3 hours and was never able to connect with anyone. It was already so late at night I had to call BringFido to cancel, and even the BringFido team had trouble reaching a manager the next day. When they finally got in contact another day later, the manager denied that there was a power outage, said I was a “no show,” and charged my card anyway. Needless to say, they denied my refund and didn’t acknowledge how poorly they treated me and other guests.

All Dogs Welcome

Gold Country Inn and Casino by Red Lion Hotels

We travel with a 75-lb German Shepherd Mix, so we were thrilled to find affordable lodging that welcomes dogs of all sizes and breeds. The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating and did not treat us any differently for having a "big, scary dog." We booked through BringFido and only paid an additional $15 pet fee at check-in. There was a grassy relief area toward the back of the building near the camping spots. Our room included 2 queen beds with 1 refrigerator, 1 microwave, 2 sinks, and heating/AC. My only criticism is there were a couple of flies in our room, but that may have been attributed to the weather. We would definitely stay here again next time we pass through Elko.

Medium-Sized Dogs Welcome, but the pet fees are PRICEY

Golden Nugget Lake Tahoe

Our dog is a mixed breed between medium and large, so I didn't have any trouble getting him past the hotel front desk. However, be forewarned that the staff does require you fill out a form with your dog's demographics. When prepaying through BringFido, you should expect to pay an additional $28.50 resort fee and $74.10/night pet fee at check-in. They give your doggo a swag bag at check-in, which is a nice gesture most other hotels don't offer. Contrary to the above description, we were put at the 15th floor in the Heavenly suite (not the 2nd or 3rd floors). There are neither refrigerators nor microwaves. Also be advised that if you check in/out outside of bell service hours, the hotel will NOT loan you any bellman carts. There is an even mix of friendly and unfriendly hotel staff. As fans of the Hard Rock brand, we would like to stay here again, but the exorbitant fees deter us as it almost doubles the nightly rate.
