It’s sufficient
Ainsworth InnCheck-in was super easy and Jerry was great. The “inn” is an old super 8 and it probably has the original furniture. There is some green space right outside the door, however you are on the main highway; keep in mind if you have timid ones. I thought the pet fee was a little excessive ($15 per dog) considering the conditions. We were only passing through one night so it was sufficient for what we needed.
No membership required
St. Johns Community Dog ParkWe were traveling through Missouri and didn’t realize how many dog parks required a membership in St. Louis. This park was perfect for us. There are bags provided upon entry. Small and large dog area available. There are several toys provided. We were there on a Thursday afternoon and it wasn’t busy at all. Lori-a park organizer greeted us warmly and made us feel extremely welcome. The park is shaded which made it that much more comfortable. It is close to the interstate so beware if your fur babies don’t react well to traffic noise.
Welcoming
Riverboats at the Gateway ArchAll staff greeted us warmly. The dogs enjoyed the rest on the deck after walking around the arch.
Loved it
Grindstone Nature AreaGreat trails for walking even off the path. Dogs were able to enjoy outdoors without a tether and LOVED IT. The creek was easily accessible. Mostly large rock so small paws may not enjoy it much.
Green space
Candlewood Suites Columbia East an IHG HotelHotel was away from busy streets and traffic. It had plenty of green space surrounding the building. We traveled with two medium size dogs and one large-no questions asked. Check-in was easy. The room was clean and spacious.
