    Good walking path

This is a flat gravel road alongside the estuary. It has history posts and goes through redwood areas. The previous review is very accurate in terms of the trail and the situation for hiking around Fort Bragg.

    Nice walking path

After finding out most state parks don't allow dogs on their hiking trails, we had one ranger recommend Big River (drive on Highway 1, turn on to the side road Big River Rd and it leads you to parking). There is a lot of beach space for walking, surfing, and hanging out. And there is also a pathway that goes on for several miles (I think about 12, but we only walked about 2 before turning around). The path is wide and gravelly and is pretty flat. Not quite the hike we were looking for, but it was a nice nature walk beside the river and there are some redwoods as you walk. We also saw a few cyclists as well on the trail.
