Lake Le-Aqua-Na State Recreation Area
The Lake Le-Aqua-Na name comes from the combination of the latin word for water and the nearby town's name, Lena. Lake Le-Aqua-Na State Recreation Area is a pet-friendly park located six miles south of the Illinois-Wisconsin state line and is a great place for dogs and their owners to enjoy a walk on the 8.5 miles of trails that weave through the pine and oak forests around the lake. There are also numerous picnic spots for people to enjoy dotted around the water. Dog owners should keep their pooch on a leash while they are enjoying the park and as always, clean up any mess that they make.
