We liked the location. We could walk to a community park and some restaurants. It was clean and comfortable. Nice sidewalk to walk my lab. I was warned by other guests that kids were feeding an alligator by the pool, so that made me a little nervous and definitely stayed away. There is no restaurant/bar on property. My Labrador was very happy and this was a good spot to stop on our way south.
Very pet-friendly property close to the beach in Hilton Head. The walk from the hotel to the beach is a little longer than advertised at about 1/2 mile. But the location is good and much more affordable than beach-front hotels, condos, and house rentals. Watch out for gators; we saw 4 in a week within 100 yards of the hotel.
We have stayed here before and I must say this stay was an improvement. Very clean, very friendly staff, and best of all quiet. The complementary breakfast was great also. We make several trips a year down to Florida to see family and this is one of our top destinations.
Hotel was undergoing renovation; scraping, hammering, sanding, drilling most of the day and waking us up at 8:30am. Management urged us to return to see what the renovation looks like. Right! No bags for pet waste either at the stations.
The room itself was perfectly fine, but the way the hotel is laid out is not perfect. Registration/check-in is in a separate building down the street. Also, when we got on the elevator, a couple, who had been there a few days, warned us that someone's dog was snatched by an alligator near the hotel. Sure enough, there are signs everywhere around that area, warning to not feed alligators. I would NOT recommend thinking you are safe to take a walk from the Hotel down to the beach, or out to get something to eat.
Very pretty hotel and great location even though it is not on the beach. Pet friendly rooms are on the first floor but raised higher like a second floor. Very clean, and nice breakfast.
The location was nice to walk to the beach, restaurants, a playground close by for kids. The hotel itself was ok, you have to walk back to the main building to get breakfast, I don’t mind walking, but with young kids and a dog prefer to eat in the room so it was inconvenient. Everything was clean, but smaller than normal rooms.
Just a couple of blocks to the beach. The room was very clean. Easy check-in and better than average breakfast. We were also given a list of Fido friendly restaurants with patios. Staff was great.
The Holiday Inn Express was very dog-friendly to our fur baby. They even gave her a treat at the front desk! We really loved being so close to the beach that we could walk there with our dog and gear. We loved our room with a balcony and lots of room for the kids and all of our stuff. We appreciated that we could take our dog to the pool area (no swimming for her) so that we could hang out with our kids without leaving our dog in the room (which is frowned upon). We also appreciated that we could walk her through the breakfast room serving area so we could enjoy breakfast on the patio with her. The one area for improvement would be to have more (better) breakfast options. Overall though, we really can't complain about our stay. Great value!
This is a great location to bring your pup. It's just a short walk to the dog-friendly beach (which allows dogs to be off-leash during the off-season). There's a great park right next to the hotel, as well as numerous dog-friendly restaurants, all within walking distance. The room we stayed in was very clean, with a little balcony looking out onto the greenery. Will definitely stay here again!
This hotel was amazing and in the area it was the only one that allowed big dogs. Other hotels said they did allow big dogs but only up to 60 lb. I guess they don't know that big dogs can be over 60 lb! LOL. Our stay was absolutely serene. I know that there were probably six large dogs on the first floor and we only heard one dog bark once. The walls are so well made that you can't hear anyone on either side of you. Which is a blessing when you are traveling to a doggy seminar, and know that the whole first floor of the hotel is nothing but dogs and their people. In addition to that the beds were amazing and the pillows so perfect that I am getting in touch with the hotel to find out where they got them. My next trip to Hilton Head Island I will be staying at the Holiday Inn Express, with or without my dogs, once again!
We enjoyed our stay and liked the updates though the room was really small and the bathroom was really sneezy as door was too close to the toilet. Beautiful pool area right outside our window though!! Wish it had been warmer weather so we could enjoy the pool! Beautiful beach that you could drive or walk to at Coligny Beach public access. Widest beaches ever seen!! Our dog really enjoyed his stay too! Had to walk to the separate building down the block to get to the breakfast room but it was great exercise! Thank you BringFido for helping us get the room on short notice!
Decent accommodations for great price. The hotel is budget and cozy still we felt comfortable, safe and well treated. On check in we were given a list of pup friendly restaurants. There are conveniently located doggie waste stations. We could sit on deck (offered an inside area too but weather was nice) at breakfast and had a fresh water bowl delivered to the table. The staff were super loving and engaged with my pup. Can’t beat location as we are a few minute walk to the beach and easy drive to most things on the island. We will definitely be back.
Staff was very friendly and breakfast was very good but the hotel itself is dated, we could barely open the patio door , it wouldn’t slide open easily and the patio was full of sand. The pool water was a light shade of green so we did not go in it. The area is beautiful but we left a little disappointed.
Very nice hotel on Hilton Head at very nice price. We had a cat so can’t report on dog-walking space, but the very close beach allowed pooches up to 10 am and after 5 pm (on leash).
The room was awesome, two queen beds.. cause they dont have pet friendly single kings, so my dog got his own bed for his toys etc. Cute little balcony to look at the lagoon from. Great price for great location. Walking distance from everything. The beach is about a 10 minute walk away, the shopping center is about 8 minutes away, there are bike rentals through the hotel even! We had an awesome experience!!
