Historic buildings and lots of acreage make up this hotel with tons of bars, several restaurants, a movie theater, an amphitheater for summer concerts, a hot salt water soaking pool in a garden-like setting, and even a golf course - basically an adult playground. It is located close to gorgeous scenery and hiking areas while also only about 20 minutes from the airport. We lived up the road from here for 17 years and have immensely enjoyed sharing this place with friends and family. We have also spent several nights here since moving away. Of the dog friendly rooms we have stayed in (one of the same two each time, I'm guessing there must be more), there are definitely some issues.
Old building = noise, a lot. Light sleepers beware. There is a lovely public porch outside the window of each room, and even with Quiet Hours you will absolutely hear everything, and people can look right into your room if the curtain is open. No TV. You are encouraged to explore, not stare at a screen. No a/c, tho they will provide fans. You will probably need to open that window to get fresh air. No bathroom in room. Most of the rooms here require you to use a M or F lounge with private toilet and shower rooms. None of the dog friendly rooms are en suite. Dogs are not permitted in many areas, obviously inside restaurants but also some of the garden areas, too.
However, it is a very large property and there are outside eating and drinking options, even in the rainy winter with fire pits and shelters, and a lot of land to walk. One thing to note, you cannot leave your fur baby unattended in the room for any reason, even kenneled. Also, your dog must be with you at all times, so if you are traveling solo this would prohibit visiting and using many of the cool features this place has to offer. It is definitely worth checking this place out, just be aware of the dog policies and some of the room issues if staying the night.
