I live down the street from this park and refuse to go back. This park is beautiful but similar to what another view wrote... the people that go there have no clue about proper park etiquette. I went to this park 5 times with my boxer and all 5 times there were issues. Several times I have seen sick dogs that would have terrible diarrhea. I approached an older man with a German Shepard that had bad diarrhea and he had an attitude that I even suggested his dog was sick. I have seen the police called on three pitbulls (owned by 1 person) that randomly attacked a black lab as soon as she walked it. The pitbull owner felt the dogs were just playing but you could clearly see the dog had large gashes in her leg. She was later banned from returning. My dog was tackled and dragged by the throat across the field by a different Shepard. When I kicked the dog off my dog and confronted the owner, he said the dogs were only playing. My dog had a large cut on his ear and throat and terrified. I've seen a mixed breed bit a women's arm. I've seen other dogs get into aggressive fights and later the owners get into fights. Basically, the is a park full of aggressive, ignorant people that ruin it for everyone else. If you do go, I encourage you to write down the Park Ranger phone number. (732) 745-3800. If you dog is attacked - call them. If they are not open, call the police, get a report and tell the Park Rangers. The only way to make this park safe is to get these idiots banned. Good Luck!
- NicoleMore than a year agothis is the perfect place for all dogs
The enclosed dog areas are great, but the different trails behind the pens are even better. The trail are easily to walk and navigate and really peaceful.

but the people that go there have no clue about proper park etiquette. I was harassed so badly there I wont go back even though its a lovely park. NO you should NOT let dogs "figure it out" because while they are figuring it out, my dog gets her face chewed off. The humans have the attitude "I have been coming here a long time"... well you still dont own it.
- LucyMore than a year agoTHOMPSON Dog Park excellent
The dog park at Monroe Township/Jamesburg is a wonderful park to bring your dog. It has two sections - one for larger dogs and one for small ones. There are water fountain/spigots available. The two sections are gated so your dog can be let off leash to run, play or just watch! This park is highly recommended for you to exercise and socialize your beloved pet. And you can meet other dog lovers as well!!
