- AdrienneApr 10, 2022Driving Tour encourages stops
We also were welcomed by a ranger and got the Bark Ranger info. We made many stops where we took our dog to explore numerous siege places complete with the battle markers, carved monuments, and details of Vicksburg. Impressive way to “relive” the battlefield events.

We were able to take the dogs to see the outdoor memorials and beautiful scenery. They were not allowed on one of the outdoor boats but otherwise, it’s a great place to visit with Fido!

One of the park employee’s gave us a “Bark Ranger” badge that we could put on his collar. They have politely asked if they could come up to our pup and give him some pets. Additionally, the actual civil war trail is an amazing place to walk your dog and the main entrance has doggy poop bags and trash cans.

Unfortunately it was raining most of the time we were there so we couldn't really get out and explore much but the little we did was good. They are dog friendly and have the B.A.R.K Ranger program. Dogs aren't allowed on the USS Cairo but can be around the outskirts. We made turns going through the ship.
- AshleeFeb 4, 2021Beautiful Drive/Great Information
1800 acres with a beautiful drive and tons of Civil War history. Lots of places to get out and walk. Our dogs loved it. Hard to believe this is right along I20. Wish the museum and exhibits had been open.
