- CharlotteMar 6, 2024LOVE Blue Heaven!
We have been to Blue Heaven many times. It’s one of our favorite restaurants in Key West. This is the first time we brought our pup. He loved it! They brought him ice water and he had a great time watching the roosters. Highly recommend this restaurant with or without a dog.
- AlysseFeb 19, 2024Wonderful food and atmosphere!
The food was to die for, and you really can't beat the vibe! Our dog enjoyed observing the chicken activity in the area -- and so did we, if I'm honest! Unfortunately, because of how cool this place is, the wait time was abominable, and I was unimpressed with the service. I understand being a little slow when managing a crowd like that, but being downright rude and unwelcoming isn't great. Still, I'd give it another shot!
- LeelooDec 14, 2023Great breakfast
Great food and super dog friendly!
- AndrewOct 12, 2023Great Venue & Food
Everything we had was incredible. Open courtyard with live music. Don’t skip Blue Heaven!!
- LisetteJul 11, 2023Very dog friendly!
My family and I took my Havanese puppy to this restaurant for a dinner in April. they staff was very welcoming toward my puppy. There were a few other dogs present and all were well behaved. they also offer the dogs water bowls. The food and drinks were great too! My puppy is usually quite skittish but he did great here.
My only suggestion is if you have a dog that has a high prey drive, this may not be the best spot since there are small chickens that roam free around the property.
- TylerJul 20, 2022Absolutely Incredible Food!
Blue Heaven is super dog friendly. We had seating in the courtyard area and server brought the pups a bowel of water. The wild chickens were running around the table but our dogs tolerated them well. The food is the absolute best! We had the grouper & jerk chicken which was to die for. Desserts were pretty amazing too. Highly recommend when visiting Key West!
- MichelleJul 24, 2021Amazing Atmosphere
We enjoyed a wonderful brunch with our two dogs. Plenty of shade, relaxing atmosphere and pups were even offered a little bacon as a treat. Will be back!
- LauraFeb 20, 2021Breakfast on a saturday
we got to the restaurant by 8:30 and the wait was already an hour. the food was a 7.5, the dog tables were by the stage with a live band. my only complaint was the area smelled like pee:(
- Ozzie The Poodle KingDec 14, 2020Shady In A Good Way
The lobster omelette was delicious! The server brought ice cold water for Ozzie immediately- even before ours! Very dog friendly & great service!

Very nice place to bring your pet.
- LauraMay 31, 2019Ambiance Was Good.
The ambiance was very funky and relaxed, but it was a little crowded for my GSD’s comfort so I didn’t stay as long as I would have liked. I had the special, a lobster grilled cheese. It was pretty good. I asked for a slice of key lime pie to go as it had been recommended to me. But when I got to my hotel and opened the container, two flies were crawling around on the pie, so I didn’t eat it.
- MorganMar 11, 2019Awesome atmosphere
Very cool ambiance with fantastic food and drink. A bit pricey but quality of food was worth it. I went for dinner but any meal with your pup would be a good one here.
- BethanyDec 16, 2018Doggone good
This is a great place to experience the key West atmosphere. We were seated pretty quickly. We got the burger, chicken salad and lobster grilled cheese. All were great. The rice bowl the one person got was not as good. It wasn't seasoned.
- FeliciaMore than a year agoAlways Great Food and Cold Bowl of Water for Your Pet
Blue Heaven is a great choice to bring your dog. Brought our Jack Russell and we were seated quickly. The waitress brought a large bowl of cold water which was appreciated. Always great food. My favorites are LBT Benedict (Lobster, Bacon and Tomato!) and Shrimp & Grits.
- EdMore than a year agoAwesome atmosphere and food!
Sitting here right now! Arrived right at opening time and sat right down. Waitress brought our boxer Sophie a bowl of water and we sat back and enjoyed the food and atmosphere. This is a must stop for any Buffett fan!
- BaileyMore than a year agogreat breakfast spot
Great breakfast spot even in the rain. Gets busy after 9 so come early no problem getting a dog table.
- JadeMore than a year agoa must for Key West
We had to wait while one of the three tables that dogs are allowed to be at opened up, but it was a great spot when it did. Beware of random cats and chickens sneaking by...your pup will need to be a bit tolerant. Waitstaff brought water and were otherwise accommodating. Great food for the humans. Rules state dogs must remain on the ground and eat from their bowls not your plate...so if your pup is used to being overly pampered...their patience may wear out. :)

We don't eat breakfast anywhere else when we're in KW. Opens at 8 but doesn't usually pick up until 9 or so. Band starts at 10 so after 9, as others have stated, you're waiting a while for a seat and only a few tables are designated for pets. If you just want the fantastic food with no wait and only part of the atmosphere (live band), get there at 8am.
- RyanMore than a year agoPerfect!
This is our favorite restaurant in Key West, and I was so excited to bring our dog with us. Highly, highly recommend. Live music, a shady space to relax, and spectacular food and drinks.
Expect a small wait, but it is nice to just wander around and look at everything. Also, it didn't take any longer to get a "dog friendly" table, than a regular table. There were at least six other dogs there for brunch, and all of the staff stopped to pet our dog. Very dog friendly. Highly recommend. (June 2014). - JaneMore than a year agoDon't miss this place!
Funky fun environment, good food, nice staff. Be prepared to wait 45 or more minutes for a table. 4 dog tables on the day we were here.
- DebraMore than a year agoThe Best
Expect to wait an hour for your table. Its a popular place and I know why. You can grab a drink at the cute bar and listen to the live music while you wait or you can take the dogs on a walk around the block like we did. Our server was great. Order the eggs Benedict with key lime hollandaise sauce!!!! its AMAZING!
- MontseMore than a year agoJust All Right
They only have two tables in the sand "dog friendly". It took them 10 minutes to just bring the menu and take the drink order, and about 20 minutes to bring my dog a bit of water. They didn't really seem too happy about the dog.
- DanMore than a year agoOur New Key West Favorite
The food was fantastic. The staff was fabulous. The drinks were pretty good as well. They were pet friendly. They do have limited number of tables for pets, but that doesn't seem unreasonable. They were still more than willing to accommodate. This became our favorite place to eat. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, so it will take a while to get through all the great things on the menu. Just can't beat the combination of great food and staff, plus we can bring our pet.
- Joe Boxer (Cup of Joe)More than a year agoMust refrain from eating here daily...
This really is a must see in KW. The food and service are great. They now have limited seating area for dogs, but they will try to accommodate you. This is very popular so don't be surprised to wait over an hour for a table. According to a new ordinance [Chapter 109 Dogs in Public Food Service Establishments] restaurants need to apply for a permit with “Code” at the city of Key West to allow dogs in their eatery. Many of the previous pet friendly places have done so, while others have not in protest. In KW fashion they may or may not honor the code. So, be sure to call ahead to see what they welcome.
- TerriMore than a year agoNo Longer pet friendly
We went there for breakfast yesterday, July 30, 2011 and were told that they now only have 2 tables where dogs are allowed. (Our dog is very small and well behaved.) So we waited for 45 minutes, and the hostess grumbled at us again when taking us to our table about having limited space for dogs...whereas there are chickens, roosters, and cats everywhere causing alot of noise. It's a good thing the food was so good! The bloody mary and the eggs benedict were the best we had ever tasted!
- MariaMore than a year agoBest in Key West
A fantastic, funky place to eat in Key West! Roosters, cats, and amazing food! Tequila loves going to Blue Heaven. She always gets a bowl full of ice water and lots of attention! Definitely a must go for dog owners and non dog owners alike.
- LeahMore than a year agoBest Food/Atmosphere in Key West!
This place is a must on any visit to Key West! Great food, great service, great atmosphere.
- JulioMore than a year agoGreat experience
Had a great breakfast here one rainy morning, No other people in the outside dining part. Great atmosphere, excellent food, terrific service from a college student named Vicki, who brought water for the dog, and was a great information source for the area. Highly recommended. Ask for Vicki
- RhondaMore than a year agoWONDERFUL PLACE!!
This was our favorite spot over the thanksgiving holiday 2010. They let Roxie come in and sit with us while we ate and the food was fabulous. The atmosphere is wonderful and I will think of Blue Heaven everytime I think of key west.
- PamMore than a year agoGreat Place to Bring Pooch
There are a half dozen or so (each) of roosters, hens and cats (of course) running around. Very distracting to pups.
