Run down
Fairfield Inn & Suites Amarillo AirportThe exterior looked like it is fairly new, but the interior needs an update. The door to our room won’t open without a tug and won’t close without slamming it. We feel bad for our neighbors and usually try to quietly close our door. The bathroom is outdated and the sink counter seems to be sinking. Air/heater system is older and we kept it off (fearing mold in the old system).
Only allowed on the patio
Tyler's BarbecueThere was a big no dogs allowed sign on the door as you walk in. Only allowed on the patio with a severe wind warning in place. Luckily our dog is a service animal so we we’re able to eat inside…don’t know if they would have been more accommodating to other fur babies due to the weather and the non-crowded indoor seating. Food was good, not to die for - but it was tasty. a Surprisingly it was the green beans that I liked the most. We got ribs and pulled pork. Ribs were not falling off the bone. seemed more like a spare rib.
Truly dog friendly
Palo Duro Canyon State ParkWe drove in to check it out, and the volunteer at the front entrance was sweet blowing kisses to our dog. No dogs unless carried into the gift store (close quarters). It looks awesome for athletic dogs and people. Unfortunately we and Mochi aren’t! we saw all breeds all enjoying the back to nature experience.
Beautiful beach, fur babies, nice people
Vilano BeachWe had a bit of a gps problem finding this beach, but once we got there it was worth it! Mochi loved it so much we decided to extend our stay for another night. It was a bit more crowded than expected, but all were very accepting and he got a lot of hellos and he gave out smooches!
