Not worth what I paid
Hotel Aspen InnSuites Flagstaff/Grand CanyonLet me start by saying that I was travelling over Easter weekend. I needed a place to crash with my lab, and this place seemed appealing. Well, I was disappointed. My room was small and old. There was hardly any space to move around in the room. The shower was "renovated," but the rest of the room was dated and worn. There was plenty of "outdoor" space for my pup to do his business. Unfortunately, I don't think what I got was worth the "holiday" price. I would probably stay someplace else next time me and my pooch are passing through Flagstaff.
Impressed!
Cypress Street StationDecided to stop by this place while passing through Abilene. Kinda picked this place because...well...everything else was too far or closed. Regardless, I'm glad I did. It's in a cool area of "old" Abilene. There were a couple of small tables outside, shaded by an awning. The staff was very friendly to both me and Dexter. The service was great, and the food was tasty. I'd be happy to stop by again the next time I'm passing through Abilene.
Eh...could be worse
La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Amarillo West Medical CenterIt's a convenient location, located off the 10, beyond that there isn't much to praise. The room was clean, but old and worn and not worth what I paid. One of the amenities offered is a grassy pet area. Actually, there are two. Unfortunately, they are disgusting. I guess I can't fault the La Quinta for inconsiderate pet owners, but it's obvious the facility makes no effort to keep the areas clean. There is as much trash strewn around as there is pet waste. It served its purpose during my trip (a place to crash with my dog), but I think I'll skip this place the next time I'm passing through.
Great pit stop
Quality Inn DemingStopped in for a night during a recent road trip with my Lab. Convenient location and great value. The room was clean and comfortable. Big grassy area for the pooch to sniff and explore. The staff was friendly and courteous. I'm giving it a 4 only because of the COVID restrictions, still, I would definitely stay there again.
Not what I had hoped
Firetruck Brewing CompanyWhile traveling with my dog, I picked this place because I'm a beer fan. When I clicked on the website link from the BringFido page, I was directed to a webpage for a place called Fire Truck Brewing Company. Apparently, the Sentinel Peak establishment is no longer in business. Regardless, I stopped in because of the good reviews for Sentinel. Boy, was I disappointed. I will say that the place has a good selection of beers and a large shaded patio. Unfortunately the food was subpar, and the service was terrible. There were other dogs on the patio, but I wouldn't go back. Even if they are dog friendly, the service and quality of food were not enough to entice me to return.
